Th350 Detent Cable Leak

It seems to leak a bunch of transmission fluid after setting for a period of time.

This week i decided to put an end to this leaky madness. And it seems to almost completely drain the fluid so much that the car will barely move. The kickdown cable port on the th350 transmission is a common issue. A new kickdown cable detent boot for the th350 and th350c.

Does it seem pssible that it could be losing that much fluid from this location when the car isn t even running. In japan especially in the city there are so many traffic lights and stop signs that the kickdown can actually be completely removed. I would say it is about 3 8 tall slides over the plastic part that sticks in the trans. Th350 has in fact a detent cable not a throttle valve cable.

The plastic cable mounts needs to be removed. This boot is typically on th350s 1978 up but may also be found on earlier models. That makes it really easy to cap. I have a mildly built th350 that seems to leak from the detent cable fitting when it sits overnight.

Ct2827 a new kickdown cable detent boot for the th350 turbo 350 and th350c. It had no sign of front or rear seal leakage so i replaced the filter and pan gasket and then test drove it for several days. Detent boot seal th350 transmission for passing gear kickdown cable.
